Apple, Starbucks and Harley Davidson, each have done everything they can to understand the wants and needs of their customers, while delivering solutions to those needs at interactive and human levels.
Starbucks set out to become the ‘third place’ in peoples daily lives (ie. home, work and Starbucks). They wanted to provide all the comforts of your home and office. They provided the space for you to sit in a nice chair, talk on your phone, look out the window, surf the web… oh, and drink coffee too. They pioneered much of what local coffee shops now utilise as part of their daily offerings.
Coffee and the ‘third place’ concept has become a staple in the lives of many. This provides us with a great opportunity to live on mission and share Jesus. Here are 3 reasons to buy a coffee for strangers as a way to share Jesus…
3 Reasons to Buy Coffee for Strangers
- Generosity starts conversations — It may cost you small change, but the conversation it starts may bring big change to their life.
- Generosity builds friendships — Everyone has acquaintances, but not everyone has great friends. Generosity builds friendships because it instils value and says ‘you matter’.
- Generosity shows another way to live — In a society driven by selfishness, acts of generosity stand out and show that a selfless life is a powerful way to live.
You don’t have much to lose, but heaven may have much to gain.
